The beauty of imperfection

The annual Open Studios Exhibition was exhibited in the new Burrinja Gallery. The exhibition theme ‘WABI SABI: the beauty of imperfection’ was selected by the artists, and presented a range of mediums from the participating studios. The launch event on 15th April attracted attendance of approx. 150 people. Over 600 visitors attended the exhibition over the full duration of the 4 weeks.

Dandenong Ranges Open Studios Artists 2021

Congratulations to first time participating Open Studios artist Kristin McFarlane and her work “At the Still Point of the Turning World” which received the most votes for the 2021 Dandenong Ranges Open Studios People’s Choice Award! In second place came fellow first time participant Liberty Wilding with “Reflections ” and in third place went to “Carried” by Heather Bradbury.

Dandenong Ranges Open Studios & Swinburne University of Technology – Diploma of Visual Arts, Wantirna Campus presented the 2021 Visual Arts Innovation Award for the first time.

The award was given to Alex Moncrief for his mixed media work “Compounding“.
