Amanda Wright is a Nuenonne artist who currently lives and works in Boronia on Wurundjeri country. She has matrilineal connections to Bruny Island, located off the south-east coast of Tasmania. Wright was awarded a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Arts) at RMIT University in 2004 and a Bachelor of Education from Deakin University in 2009.

Wright has been a practising artist for over 25 years and been commissioned by the Melbourne, Maroondah and Yarra Ranges councils to produce Indigenous murals at local preschools, kindergartens and primary schools. She often collaborates with students and educators to produce artworks that create connections to the environment and First Nations culture.

She comes from a family of artists, and at the age of three decided to become an artist after watching her uncle painting in his studio. Wright believes that meaningful engagement with Indigenous culture and knowledge occurs not just through textbooks, but also through spoken language, dance, music and, for her, the visual arts.
